A digital nomad is someone who decides to manage their work, how and where they want through freelancing or remote working opportunities. Enter the age of digital nomads. As more people are constantly working remotely with the help of technology (mostly laptops) than ever before for blogging, project management software, and video conferencing systems, which is certain that it will keep growing. So, you need to start working digitally if you want to keep traveling and want to afford your travel expenses while enjoying your life.

For most of us being a remote worker may seem like a dream, but if you really want to know what it is like to travel while working online. So, stick with us cause we’re going to describe the pros and cons of the digital nomad lifestyle and how you can be one of many digital nomads.

Without further ado, let's get started!

Digital Nomad – The Benefits

One of the many benefits of remote working is that you don’t have to actively work from 9 to 5.  You can schedule your working time according to yourself and work when it suits you. There is no need to spend time to get to the office or reaching back home – and you don’t have to spend any time with some co-worker that you may not get along with either.

As you have the freedom of setting your own working hours and days, you can work on Sunday and take time out on Monday, for example,  so you can spend your Monday on the beach or in  a jungle somewhere.

Challenges:

If you think that a digital nomad will always be working on a beach with their laptop perched on their lap, it is not always the case. There are still many hours of work that you have to devote to the task if you want to get paid for it. We often look at digital nomads as always ‘living their best lives’ mostly because they don’t post on social media themselves bent over a laptop and working at 2 a.m. trying to meet a deadline.

Skills you need:

One of the best ways to work online is to start blogging, and if you want to work as a digital nomad, you have to willing to learn a few skills. So, you can provide the kind of value to your clients that they will willing to pay for it.

Digital Nomad - Content Writing Skills

One of the most important aspects of blogging is content writing skills. Without writing engaging, unique, and helpful content, , you can never build a profitable blog. So, start learning to write effectively as soon as possible.

Here is a great tip: If you want to build up an audience of eager followers, use the 3 ‘E’s in your writing, always.

Educate

Empower

Entertain

Digital Nomad - CSS and HTML Skills

Although WordPress is a powerful platform that lets you create content without needing to have any coding skills, you should definitely learn a little about basic HTML coding. You don’t have to be a fully-fledged WordPress developer or programmer to build a successful blog from scratch. But learning a few simple coding such as image interlinking, adding alt tags, including headlines in h1 or h2 tags, etc. would be very useful.

Digital Nomad - Networking Skills

While blogging can be done all alone, you have to interact with readers on a daily basis. That is why networking is surely one of the best blogging skills you can acquire.

The bottom line

If you really want to travel whilst working, start learning every necessary skill that will help you become an effective blogger. for further info on that, check out Smart Blogger
